When we think about what drives exceptional performance a word that most likely does not make it to the shortlist is the word consistency. In our lives, we know what it feels like if we are called consistent. It is a “nice” comment, but it does not ordinarily make the heart beat faster. Maybe, though, when we dig a bit deeper and we think about more about it, consistency might just be more powerful than we give it. What if we never skipped our training, always slept enough, spend a considerable amount of time in the gym, logged our data every day and even more. It might actually be the most powerful move that we could make. The consistency gives us the ability to improve on a regular basis and when we do this over time, we just get better and better. So, many just being consistent and not making excuses is the best way for us to approach our journey towards excellence.
