We all know that the new year brings with it a positive energy and a desire to do better. It is a time when we set goals and make changes that we know we should be true to. Yet, we can find ourselves a few weeks from now trying to keep to our big commitments and potentially finding ourselves falling short. It is not bad, or even a problem that this happens, it might just be that we pushed the goals too far, too high, or did not give ourselves enough time to develop and sustain. It takes time to move in a new direction or to consistently deliver on a big commitment. So, what we should do is set mini goals, realistic expectations, and resolutions that we know we can accomplish. They become the foundation for the big idea and the big goal. Small accomplishments add on top of each other and when we do this again and again, we really do make incredible progress. Here’s to setting ourselves up for success and doing it in the best way that we know, one step at a time, with great results over time. Let’s make 2020 work from the beginning, imagine how wonderful we will feel when we get it right!
