It is more likely than not that while on our journey we can find ourselves pushing the envelope, working hard, taking it to the next level and being totally focused on our individual performance. This is definitely good but it need not be all that we do and focus on. It is good for us to think about how we can nourish both body and soul. What is it that we can do to make this happen? Maybe we start with a resolve to take more time for ourselves, time that we can use to focus on building a complete person. We know the elements of recovery, rest, healing and rebuilding. It starts with a commitment, a prioritization of sorts that brings it all into balance. And from there we can see and feel the improvements that we can make when we take care of ourselves. Nothing fancy, just good basics, executed again and again on each dimension till we feel better than we would have otherwise. Here’s to taking care of ourselves – no one else is going to do it – we might as well do it ourselves.
